Backyard planters

First Caladium of the season...I'm not thinking I will have good luck with the others that were in this planter last year.
I finally did something abour our back planters..

When we first moved in they looked like this:

Then the freeze got to them and we got those daisies the heck out of there that were taking over and constantly wanted to over grow their bounds. The crotons also didn't make it through the past 2 winters and it finally looked pretty terrible and I just couldn't take it any longer.
Only the middle section was completed so far, the right and left side are still to be completed after a sprinkler change. Since the sprinklers are in the corners of yard, we can't plant the necessary palms, otherwise they will prevent the grass from being watered. Hopefully the sprinklers can be updated so the new palms can get installed and this entire section can be completed.

Here is the middle section:

Aztec grass in the front, followed by gingerland caladium bulbs(which won't show up for a few weeks) and in the center stage is a pink velour crepe myrtle(which I'm dreading how long will take to get as large as I would like) and surrounded by liriope, Red Sister Ti and variegated Schefflera.

Additionally, I raised up the blocks because they were sunken in and those are sod plugs that we put in some troubled areas surrounding the yard.

Ignore the grammer and punctuation...too tired tonight.
