I am taking a vacation in a week and a half and it is not on a cruise for once! Which is good because I would not have wanted to go with all of this Swine Flu stuff going on, I am a germaphobe. Needless to say we are heading out to Sanibel Island for 4 nights, so that gives us a good 3 days at the beach. I've wanted to go to Sanibel Island for years & finally am getting around to it. There are no real resorts on Sanibel because its just old, so I thought about staying on Captiva instead where there is a nice resort- South Seas resort- but realized it was far away from all the bike paths and most of the places to eat so I settled on Sunset Beach resort because it is on the beach , looked nice(for being old) and all the reviews I was reading were really good.....plus they offer continental breakfast for free, bikes for free(unlike most places that charged to rent), no resort fee(the one in Captiva had an additional $25 fee per day for 2 people), they were close to all the places to eat and town of sanibel, and it has a little kitchenette area and a screened balcony/porch and one of the biggest plus, its on Sanibel, the toll to get on the island is $6... It is nothing fancy but I think it will be perfect for the short time we will be there
I am going to use this page here to keep track all all the links of things I want do, places I want to go, reviews and places to eat just because I want to stay somewhat organized since I won't be on a ship where everything is right there...
