Classes 4 & 5 went by & I didn't put any pics up, so here's what happened:
Class 4, Came to class with back piece completed. We then sandwiched it together with the back piece, bamboo batting(I was able to use Baby/throw size) and then put the top on and basted with pins. After having it pinned, I was able to start my top stitching which consisted of nothing fancy, some stitching in the ditch(which I like) and some random lines. I was to continue to top stitch but I didn't because my borders were going to be done in free motion, which we were learning in class 5. No photos because it looks ridiculous with all this batting sticking out the sides.
Class 5, we had to come with our binding ready, I opted to use the same pattern as my border to hide my flaws. We then went ahead and trimmed my quilt to be ready for binding & boy it looked finished finally. We then learned how to do french fold binding and free motion top-stitching.
I came into Fiberologie on Saturday because the owner, Karrie, didn't have any classes & it was a nice rainy day to be sewing. I got all of my binding on & then did almost all of my free motion on the borders, but it was about 3:30 & it was time to get out of there. I'll have to go back next Saturday to finish up probably since I have no sewing machine.
Here is a pic of the finished front:
Here are pics of the back:
Here is a up close of the free motion(if you can even see):
So now I know how to do quilts & I have more to do..I'm waiting for the newsletter to come out on the next classes. I want to do the Apron, pillow and a purse class next!!
